Tony Scruggs

After an all-american career at Ucla, Tony Scruggs was the Texas Rangers 7th pick as a centerfielder in the same draft that selected Ken Griffey Jr #1 overall.

A five tool player (running, hitting, power, fielding & throwing), Tony (along with Sammy Sosa & Juan Gonzales) was part of a top 10 prospect outfield, that replaced their entire minor league counterparts each year to the Majors.

Tony played for a total of 7 years, for both the Rangers & the Seattle Mariners, batting .340 with double digit HR’s and almost 100 RBI’s in his best season.

…besides originally being drafted by the California Angels (& being courted by Dave Winfield, Ricky Henderson & Reggie Jackson at the ‘Big A’), a moment Tony will never forget is his 1st opening day & starting in centerfield for the 1st time behind Nolan Ryan in Arlington⚾️

Between Baseball, Acting & learning nonviolence for communication in India with the Gandhi family, Tony is ridiculously grateful for the journey so far, and enthusiastically excited about the next adventure🙏
